The Preacher's Role
What does the Bible say a preacher (shepherd, overseer, minister or pastor) should be

The Bible says here that it would be better for a preacher to die than to glory and boast over oneself! WOE to any preacher who is not preaching the true gospel!
A preacher's reward is to present the gospel for FREE and to not ABUSE the power of his position.
Most preachers miss every mark here by leaps and bounds. Somehow the preachers we have today feel they are "privileged" and "entitled" above everyone else but this scripture clearly says that the preacher is to be a servant so that he may win as many people to Christ as possible. You win souls for Christ by being a servant for Christ, not by flaunting wealth and material possessions.
It is the devil who likes to flaunt money and wealth because he knows that people will follow him that way. People who are not true Christians seem to be blinded to this web of deceit and they follow the money every time.
For those who compromised the Word of God▬ the Scriptures indicate that there will be degrees of punishment in Hell and a stricter judgment upon these.
Peter is describing degrees of punishment based on one’s KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 2 Peter 2:20-22
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. James 3:1
