Few preachers today have any understanding about the Old Testament and the New Testament so I am clarifying the difference here.

Old Testament - under the law
New Testament - under MORAL LAW and grace

Old Testament - keep the Sabbath
New Testament - treat every day as the Sabbath [Read Colossians 2:16-23Bible quote(verse 16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

(verse 17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.

(verse 18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

(verse 19) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

(verse 20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

(verse 21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

(verse 22) Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

(verse 23) Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.Colossians 2 verses 16-23
]

The church wants to throw out the Old Testament because it is offensive to them. God's commandments are offensive because they remind us of our sins. The Old Testament IS APPLICABLE to us today.

During the Old Testament there had to be blood shed from innocent animals for the sins of the people.

In the New Testament Christ shed His blood on the cross once and for all for all people's sins in the world and for all future sins. No more blood sacrifices of any kind ever to be done again because Jesus Christ did it all for us on the cross.

Giving God Full Control

David Wilkerson talks about the MORAL LAW.

With all that said, everything else in the Old Testament is VALID for us today. People want to dismiss whatever brings discomfort to their disobedient lifestyle and this is when man begins to live by man's rules and not God's. The Old Testament gives us commandments to live by and examples of faith to learn from. We are to be following God's commandments, not man's. Read Matthew 19:16-19Bible quote(verse 16) And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

(verse 17) And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

(verse 18) He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

(verse 19) Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.Matthew 19 verses 16-19
, Mark 7:10Bible quoteFor Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death.Mark 7 verse 10, Mark 10:19Bible quoteThou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.Mark 10 verse 19.

There is now a movement going on to create a 'new' set of commandments to live by (Amos 2:4Bible quoteThus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked.Amos 2 verse 4, Matthew 15:8-9Bible quote(verse 8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.

(verse 9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.Matthew 15 verses 8-9
, Mark 7:6-10, 12-13Bible quote(verse 6) He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.

(verse 7) Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.

(verse 8) For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, [as] the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

(verse 9) And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

(verse 10) For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

(verse 12) And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

(verse 13) Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.Mark 7 verses 6-10, 12-13

A number of forces are driving our society toward seeing the Ten Commandments as outmoded and even oppressive. One is the New Age movement...The group, by the way, was also asked to pick who they thought should be in charge of drawing up a new list of commandments. The number one choice? Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah Winfrey responsible for creating a new list of the Ten Commandments? So Oprah, according to the new apostate church, must be a 'diety' higher than the Lord God Almighty. Since TD Jakes believes that Oprah is a wonderful woman teaching others Christianity it seems to me that Jakes is a contributing factor in this fouled up state of mind. Is it any wonder that a large percentage of the church is following the New Age Movement when TBN and the televangelists they air on the network and so many of these televangelists they associate with are involved in and teaching occult practices?

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Revelation 22:14-15

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2

If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. Deuteronomy 30:10-11

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John 3:22-24
