(verse 11) Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of [them] all the Lord delivered me.
(verse 12) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Persecution against the true Christians will increase as we near the tribulation period. Persecution comes to anyone who speaks and defends the gospel of Jesus Christ. Satan knows his time is short right now and he is attacking anyone in all sorts of ways who is a threat to him. True Christians right now are being harassed and attacked in order to be silenced.
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine...But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2, 5
If you are not facing any trials and tribulations due to your faith and defense of Jesus Christ then maybe you need to be asking yourself why that is. The Bible says that the world will HATE US. The Bible says to TO BE YE SEPARATE from the world.
(verse 13) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
The word "seducer" is described as "to lead astray, as from the right action, as from duty, rectitude, or the like; corrupt, to persuade or induce or engage to have sexual intercourse, to lead or draw away, as from principles, faith, or allegiance, to win over; attract; entice, lure."
Similar words to "seduce" are womanizer, seductress, playboy, charmer, philanderer, skirt chaser, wolf, woman chaser, smooth operator, lady-killer, ladies' man, heartbreaker, lover, player, swinger, wanton, gigolo, male prostitute, hustler, betrayer, deceiver, cheater.
We see seducers in men and women today. These people are seducing others for personal gain whether it be a business deal, money, power, or the fleshly pleasures of sex. Smooth talking, charming, deceiving to indulge in sin.
(verse 14) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
(verse 15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(verse 16) All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(verse 17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Many people having been raised in the church and who have heard the Scriptures and know the plan of salvation have now turned their backs on God, rejected his Word to follow the world (Romans 1:32
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.Romans 1 verse 32).
Mainstream Christianity today is rejecting a literal Hell, or devil, or the rapture and some are even denying the existence of Heaven. They think that this earth is Heaven and that this is all there is. They teach people that you do not have to be "born again" to be accepted into Heaven. This is contrary teaching to the Word of God which says "Ye must be born again" (John 3:7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.John 3 verse 7). Some are diminishing the deity of God, the Creator of all things. These are big lies out of the mouth of Satan to manipulate people into Hell.
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Romans 1:21
Mainstream Christianity is rejecting the ten commandments, they reject instruction or correction, and if anyone points out scripture to them then they shout "You have no right to judge me."
God's Word is firm in this. God is very firm about sin, iniquities, and unrepentance. He will not tolerate what the counterfeit church is teaching. God is allowing people to make their own choices and to continue living in their sinful, shameful lives but when judgment day comes in the very near future then He will say to all these people described in the above Scriptures "Depart from me. I never knew you" (Matthew 7:21-23(verse 21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(verse 22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(verse 23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.Matthew 7 verses 21-23,
Luke 13:27-28(verse 27) But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity.
(verse 28) There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] thrust out.Luke 13 verses 27-28).
People have an opportunity right now to SEPARATE themselves from the world (2 Corinthians 6:17-18(verse 17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
(verse 17) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.2 Corinthians 6 verses 17-18) and the false teachings, but the Bible makes it very clear that the majority of the world has chosen to take the broad road to Hell. MANY are the gates wide open to enter Hell. BUT, there is only ONE NARROW GATE to enter Heaven
(Matthew 7:13-14(verse 13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
(verse 14) Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.Matthew 7 verses 13-14).
