By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have LOVE one to another. John 13:35
Did you see that? John said "LOVE." Love means to help and comfort one another, pray for each other, and fellowship together. If you cannot do that then you have no genuine godly love for your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.The church is phony with their smiling faces, hugs and "I love you's." "Love" also DOES NOT EQUAL TOLERANCE! Genuine love disciplines and tells the TRUTH.
One of the scariest things someone ever said to me was when they accused me of going against "THE LEADER." Therefore I deserved to be excommunicated and ostracized. Therefore no one should speak to me or have anything to do with me, according to this person. At what point did people get the idea that the Bible said to never question a preacher? The Bible actually teaches just the opposite. It says to "test the spirits"
(1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.1 John 4 verse 1).
This reminded me again of the trial scene in the movie "Judgment." The prosecuting attorney stated to the court that Helen Hannah refused to row in the same direction with everyone else. Helen was accused of being a "hater" because she refused to follow "THE LEADER." Therefore, death was her sentence. Helen's defense attorney tried to prove that Helen was not the real "hater" here. The defense attorney put Helen's brother who was a follower of this "leader" on the witness stand and then asked him a simple question "Do you love your sister?" He hesitantly replied "Well, yes, ...no. Well, it's more like hate."
This is how I see the big scheme of things in this world right now. It is taking the easy, broad road to just go along with everybody and follow a "leader" (Matthew 7:14Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.Matthew 7 verse 14). People keep searching for God in man but no man is his own god. People keep flocking to anyone who appears to have a connection to God that they feel they do not have themselves, or anyone who appears to have some supernatural power that they want, such as the masses of false prophets who have been sent out by Satan to deceive people. Do not be fooled by Satan's devices. These televangelists are living it up for themselves loving the attention, the money, the power and people are making "gods" out of these preachers.
Who is the real "hater"? Here is THE TEST of a true Christian. The Bible clearly tells us in John 13:35By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have LOVE one to another.John 13 verse 35 and Galatians 5:22-26:
But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us NOT be desirous of VAIN GLORY, provoking one another, envying one another.
"Fruits"... did you notice? They have nothing at all to do with big crowds. It is what is on the inside of a person and that which flows out of them. "Vanity"... that is what we see coming out of professing Christian musicians and many televangelists.
A coworker said to me once with a smile on her face "You hate [name withheld], don't you?" I replied "No, why would I hate [name withheld]?" This person said, still smiling, "You do...look what they did to you." No, I never did hate the person, but I discovered that this coworker was a counterfeit Christian with a lying spirit who worked iniquity in many people's lives by lying, gossiping, and creating divisiveness.
People who are not genuinely saved do not have the love of God in them. There is no real heart change with a pretender and so I believe that they think that everyone else is just as hateful and devious as they are. The true nature of God is foolishness to the counterfeit.
