The Fortress of Spiritual Warfare

Lastly, Paul says to PERSEVERE. In a microwave society that is accustomed to fast foods, instant home entertainment, miracle health cures, mobile communications, and supersonic travel, patience and perseverance are not our finest qualities. We want everything to take place immediately. However, when battling spiritual forces, perseverance is one of the most important virtues we can possess. The enemy wants to assault us as he did Job. His plan is to wear us down, as with Job, until we deny God and give up. With God's hand removed from Job, Satan believed Job would fail the test, but Job did not give in! HE STOOD FIRM and in the end received back DOUBLE what he had lost! We also must NOT GIVE UP! Like Job, we need to persevere and outlast the enemy.
James 4:7 says,
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (KJV).
If we resist the devil long enough, he will retreat. It is important that we never give ground to the enemy. He will press us until he is convinced that we will not budge in our determination and convictions. Ephesians 6:13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.Ephesians 6 verse 13 tells us to stand against the evil day. Paul goes on to say that after we have done everything, continue "TO STAND." In other words, DO NOT SUCCUMB TO THE DEVIL's HARASSMENT, AND NEVER GIVE UP!
Though the enemy does roam the earth like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may destroy, God did not leave us here to battle and struggle without effective weapons. Rather, He left us powerful tools that not only defeat the enemy, but keep him at bay once he has been vanquished. Luke 10:19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.Luke 10 (KJV) verse 19 says,
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (NKJV).
Using the authority of Jesus Christ, we need to bear our armor, take up our shield and sword, and PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Jesus has given US THE VICTORY!
