Job 5:21Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.Job 5 verse 21, Job 6:24, 30(verse 24) Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

(verse 6) He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for [I shall] never [be] in adversity.

(verse 7) His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity.Psalm 10 verses 1-7, Psalm 12:2-4(verse 2) They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lips [and] with a double heart do they speak.

(verse 3) The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, [and] the tongue that speaketh proud things:

(verse 5) And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, [and] weary themselves to commit iniquity.

(verse 8) Their tongue [is as] an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: [one] speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

(verse 12) Who [is] the wise man, that may understand this? and [who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth [and] is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?Jeremiah 9 verses 3, 5, 8, 12, Jeremiah 12:2Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou [art] near in their mouth, and far from their reins.Jeremiah 12 verse 2, Jeremiah 15:9She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while [it was] yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.Jeremiah 15 verse 9, Jeremiah 18:18Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. (verse 31) Behold, I [am] against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.Jeremiah 23 verses 16, 31, Jeremiah 44:17But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for [then] had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.Jeremiah 44 verse 17, Jeremiah 51:44And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.Jeremiah 51 verse 44

Lamentations 2:16All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed [her] up: certainly this [is] the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen [it].Lamentations 2 verse 16, Lamentations 3:29, 38(verse 29) He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

(verse 38) Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?Lamentations 3 verses 29, 38, Lamentations 4:4The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, [and] no man breaketh [it] unto them.Lamentations 4 verse 4, Ezekiel 2:8But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.Ezekiel 2 verse 8, Ezekiel 3:2-3, 17, 26-27(verse 2) So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

(verse 3) And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat [it]; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

(verse 17) Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

(verse 26) And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they [are] a rebellious house.

(verse 27) But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they [are] a rebellious house.Ezekiel 3 verses 2-3, 17, 26-27, Ezekiel 4:14Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.Ezekiel 4 verse 14, Ezekiel 16:56, 63(verse 56) For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

Daniel 4:31While the word [was] in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, [saying], O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.Daniel 4 verse 31, Daniel 7:8, 20(verse 8) I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

(verse 20) And of the ten horns that [were] in his head, and [of] the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even [of] that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look [was] more stout than his fellows.Daniel 7 verses 8, 20, Daniel 10:3, 16(verse 3) I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?Luke 4 verse 22, Luke 6:45A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.Luke 6 verse 45, Luke 11:53-54(verse 53) And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge [him] vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

(verse 54) Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.Luke 11 verse 53-54, Luke 16:23-25(verse 23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

(verse 24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

(verse 25) But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.Luke 16 verses 23-25, Luke 19:22And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, [thou] wicked servant. (verse 4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

(verse 11) Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

(verse 26) Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.Acts 2 verses 3-4, 11, 26, Acts 3:18, 21(verse 18) But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

(verse 21) Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.Acts 3 verses 18, 21, Acts 4:25Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?Acts 4 verse 25, Acts 8:32, 35(verse 32) The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

(verse 35) Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.Acts 8 verses 32, 35, Acts 10:34, 46-47(verse 34) Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

(verse 46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

(verse 47) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?Acts 10 verses 34, 46-47, Acts 11:8But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.Acts 11 verse 8, Acts 15:7, 27(verse 7) And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

(verse 27) We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell [you] the same things by mouth.Acts 15 verses 7, 27, Acts 19:6And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.Acts 19 verse 6, Acts 23:2And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.Acts 23 verse 2

Romans 3:13-14, 19(verse 13) Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:

(verse 14) Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:

(verse 19) Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.Romans 3 verses 13-14, 19, Romans 10:8-10(verse 8) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

(verse 28) And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.1 Corinthians 12 verses 10, 28, 1 Corinthians 13:1, 8(verse 1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

(verse 8) Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.1 Corinthians 13 verses 1, 8, 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 5-6, 9, 13-14, 18-19, 21-23, 26-27, 39, 2 Corinthians 6:11O [ye] Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.2 Corinthians 6 verse 11, 2 Corinthians 13:1This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.2 Corinthians 13 verse 1

Ephesians 4:29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.Ephesians 4 verse 29, Ephesians 6:18-20(verse 18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

(verse 19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

(verse 20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.Ephesians 6 verses 18-20, Philippians 2:11And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Philippians 2 verse 11, Colossians 3:2-10(verse 2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

(verse 3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

(verse 4) When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

(verse 5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

(verse 6) For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

(verse 7) In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

(verse 8) But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

(verse 9) Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

(verse 10) And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.Colossians 3 verses 2-10, James 1:26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.James 1 verse 26, James 3:5-10(verse 5) Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

(verse 6) And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

(verse 7) For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

(verse 8) But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

(verse 9) Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

(verse 10) Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. Revelation 1:16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength.Revelation 1 verse 16, Revelation 2:16Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.Revelation 2 verse 16, Revelation 3:16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.Revelation 3 verse 16, Revelation 9:19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails [were] like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.Revelation 9 verse 19, Revelation 10:9-10(verse 9) And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. (verse 6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.Revelation 13 verses 5-6, Revelation 14:5And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.Revelation 14 verse 5, Revelation 16:10, 14(verse 10) And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

(verse 21) And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.Revelation 19 verses 15, 21
