The Mega Church Plan

According to Donnie Swaggart, one prominent American minister presents the following 'Rules for building a mega church' and pleasing the ungodly (Listen to entire sermon Beware of False Prophets):

don't mention sin (because talking about sin and repentance is offensive)
remodel the sanctuary to look like a night club or casino (turn down the lights and bring in the drinks)
remove every cross inside and outside (because it is a reminder of Christ’s crucifixion for our sins)
don't give invitations to receive Christ (because it is too embarrassing)

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall SEPARATE them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Matthew 25:31-34, 41

Mom and I have visited many churches in our area. Most of them are very dark places. One church, in particular, almost made us run for our lives! Walking into the church people were friendly enough but in a creepy way. We were offered Starbucks coffee and snacks to take into what was supposed to be a 'sanctuary' but it looked more like a rock concert or night club. Before entering this unholy room we were offered EAR PLUGS because the music was so loud that the walls and floor shook and vibrated. Then we were offered FLASH LIGHTS along with the GUIDANCE OF AN USHER to our seat because the room was so dark that you could not see your own foot in front of you. Upon leaving this horror experience, we noticed policeman guarding the entire lobby like BOUNCERS in a bar.

Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Auditorium— I'd say this qualifies for looking like a night club or casino.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. 1 John 1:5-6

Most likely if you do not like LIGHT in the church now you won't be going to Heaven because there is NO DARKNESS in Heaven.

Religious Entertainment

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]. Jeremiah 6:16

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 2 Thessalonians 3:6

Church is just a party. This is a DISTRACTION created out of the pits of Hell to keep people's focus on anything but the gospel truths.

This is exactly what we see happening today. People are refusing the old paths. They want a new church. They want darkness, noise, excitement. They want to be ENTERTAINED. The "old paths" were too boring many say. Well, if the "old paths" were boring to you then it was because you were never genuinely saved and you have no real relationship with Jesus Christ. People are caught up in the frenzy, the trances, the 'feel good' of putting on a show... of pretend worship to make appearances for others and they believe that somewhere between the music and the ACT they put on that they are having a "REAL" experience with God but it is self-delusion. If you have to be "entertained" and be part of a frenzied crowd to enjoy Jesus then you are in great danger.

Televangelists have become a part of the entertainment industry which is all about sex, drugs and rock n'roll. They are involved in pornography, homosexuality, fornication, adultery, drugs, murder, stalking and more. A preacher can destroy the lives of others and get clean away with it because the law gives them special privileges. They are a protected class because of their titles. Regardless of the holy act you see in front of camera's for most these days what is going on behind those camera's is a nightmare. A whole lot more goes on than is ever reported in the news media. People get paid off to keep quiet and cover up evidence. Ministry employees are often too frightened to speak and are threatened to keep quiet.

Mega churches, in particular, are full of "feel good" entertainment and selling religious merchandise that will bring in large crowds and MONEY! 'Feel good' concerts where no one will ever feel the conviction of sin or be offended by God's Word. "...rock and roll singing, loud music [that vibrates the walls and the floors], dances and musical rhythms that put people into trances. There is nothing spiritual about having people run around, shout and dance and make a lot of noise!" Some of these churches teach martial arts and yoga. Some even bring Santa Claus in for Christmas.
