Example 1

Lord, forgive me of this anger and hate. Forgive me on the basis of the Blood of Jesus and cleanse me by that Blood. I commit before You to honor that Blood by forgiving [name of person] of any wrong they have ever done to me. I release [name of person] from my personal judgment.

Jesus, bless [name of person], heal [name of person] and deliver [name of person]. I will speak nothing but good over [name of person] from this moment on. Lord, You died for [name of person]. You have accepted [name of person] in Jesus and if [name of person] is good enough for You, [name of person] is good enough for me. Therefore, I love them completely and without reserve in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Example 2

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your love and kindness toward me. It is Your kindness that has led me to REPENTANCE, turning from all my sinful ways and turning to You. I admit that I have not been kind, patient, and loving to others when they have offended me. I have allowed bitterness and resentment to grow in me, separating me from others. At times I have forgotten this unforgiveness, yet it festers in my soul, often beyond my conscious reach. This affects every aspect of my life emotion, but an act of my will. I now choose to exercise my will to forgive others as You, Father, have forgiven me. I know that You, Heavenly Father, are a searcher of the heart. Father, I ask You to reveal to me any hidden and secret unforgiveness and bitterness towards others, who have hurt or offended me. I confess that this unforgiveness and bitterness is affecting my life and relationships today. Because of these past hurts, I acknowledge the inability to love or trust others.

I choose not to be ruled by a spirit of bitterness, but have a spirit of peace and love. I repent and make a decision to forgive and release these people right now. I ask You, Heavenly Father, to forgive me and restore me, as I forgive those who have offended me. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would bring all things to our remembrance. Dear Holy Spirit, I am asking You to bring to my remembrance anyone I have to forgive and I will forgive them in Jesus' name (by Your grace and with Your help). Amen.

Example 3

Heavenly Father, in obedience to your Word, I choose to let go of the right to all the anger, bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness towards ________________(name) for the wrong that they did to me. (Speak out loud what that person did to you.) What they did was wrong. It was evil and I didn't deserve it. I refuse all shame associated with this incident. I now, by faith, give up all rights that I have to be angry at _______________ for what they did to me. In obedience to you Jesus, I now choose to forgive. I release them from the debt that they owe me because I have been forgiven and because You have commanded me to forgive in your Word. I now open up the door of my heart and let them go free. Now that I have forgiven ____________________, I will no longer think or dwell on what they did to me. Heal me Jesus of all pain associated with this wrong. I put my trust in You. Thank you for cleansing me of all unrighteousness. I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you for Your grace and mercy to me. Forgive me for my hardness of heart which I have displayed to others as well as You. Cleanse me of all self-absorption, self-pity, anger, hatred, bitterness, vengefulness, hopelessness and resentment. Help me to walk in Your love and to know Your love in my own heart. Though I don't have it within me, I know that You have it within You and that you share your power with the weak. I confess my weakness and I look to You to make me strong in love, patience, longsuffering and humility. I look to all the testing of my faith as something good, for You know it will make me stronger in it. You are rich in mercy and will not chide and scold forever. I'm calling on You for forgiveness and the strength to believe Your Word and to follow it. Now, Lord, please send me the power of the Holy Spirit to strengthen me so I can follow through with all You've put in my heart. Help me not to stumble back into my old ways, but walk in the newness of life that You have promised those who are born again. Let my life be the very fragrance of grace to all I meet. Let me show others the the kind of love that You have shown me. Thank you for your faithfulness Lord. I cling to your mercy and love You with all my heart.
