The 'Prosperity Gospel' Lie

The American Gospel of Greed

"God blesses his people when his people put their trust in the cross and help those less fortunate than them." This is the Jewish principle of Tzedakah that God taught the children of Israel. -DH-

No one speaks up. No one moves. No one is willing.

When people make money, wealth, people and other junk their 'god' then they are making Lucifer/Satan their 'god' also because the Bible says that no one can have two masters (Matthew 6:24Bible quoteNo man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.Matthew 6 verse 24, Luke 16:13Bible quoteNo servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.Luke 16 verse 13).

God is testing people today and so many are failing because they are caught up in the things of this world (1 Corinthians 7:31Bible quoteAnd they that use this world, as not abusing [it]: for the fashion of this world passeth away.1 Corinthians 7 verse 31).

His message [the antichrist] is not about love. It is about power and selfishness. It's about having whatever you want regardless of the consequences to anyone else. In the name of success, it's about killing anyone who stands in the way of one's dreams. It's the same lie the serpent told Eve in the garden. "Go ahead, eat it. You know you want it. God's just afraid if you eat it that you will be just like Him."

I took those lines from an end times film called "Revelation," starring Leigh Lewis and Jeff Fahey. Leigh Lewis was speaking about the antichrist here, but how much this sounds like the apostate church in the end times and the counterfeit Christians. I was the one removed and destroyed at TBN so someone else could have his selfish dreams come true. God does not want to win anyone with cheap tricks.

Moses chose Christ instead of having great riches

In Hebrews 11:23-29Bible quote(verse 23) By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw [he was] a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

(verse 24) By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

(verse 25) Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

(verse 26) Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

(verse 27) By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

(verse 28) Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

(verse 29) By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry [land]: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.Hebrews 11 verses 23-29
we read the story about Moses.

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to SUFFER AFFLICTION with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Hebrews 11:24-26

God desires for us to be 'good stewards' of our money

There are many Scriptures in the Bible that talk about money. God wants us to be wise and good stewards of whatever we have. Our HOPE is not supposed to be in money or wealth or whatever these things can do for us, but in Jesus Christ only (1 Timothy 6:17-19Bible quote(verse 17) Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

(verse 18) That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

(verse19) Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.1 Timothy 6 verses 17-19
, Proverbs 11:28Bible quoteHe that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.Proverbs 11 verse 28, Psalm 62:10Bible quoteTrust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart [upon them].Psalm 62 verse 10). How can God bless us if we are giving with the hope of gaining material wealth or a lot of money? How can God trust us with more if our hope is misplaced and we use what we have unwisely?

It is unwise giving when people give to organizations like TBN knowing how misused the contributions are. When the preachers are multi-millionaires, own several mansions, drive expensive cars, wear very costly clothing, and have all sorts of abominable, unethical, ungodly things going on then you must realize that you are giving unwisely.

So you weigh out what you call good works from the bad and give anyway. How foolish. What the world now calls GOOD WORKS looks like evil to me. It is evil to me to see people using the title of preacher or calling themselves missionaries or Christians and then "flaunting" their so called good works (Read Galatians 2:6Bible quoteBut of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed [to be somewhat] in conference added nothing to me:Galatians 2 verse 6). God sees the heart (Psalm 44:21Bible quoteShall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.Psalm 44 verse 21, 1 John 3:20Bible quoteFor if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.1 John 3 verse 20) and He knows who is putting on an act.

In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble... Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. Proverbs 15:6, 16

If you want to come to us privately, it has not been the practice of this pulpit to name names because we are talking about principles, not people. We are talking about doctrines and not those who preach them but we can give you the name of almost every prosperity preacher in America. Your favorite...and we can show you what every one of them now believe that the blood of Jesus Christ does not totally atone. In fact three of the major ones have said that the blood of either one of the thieves could have atoned 'IF' the blood could have atoned for sin....we can show it to you in black and white. We can give you tapes and you can listen to them. -David Wilkerson, Counterfeit Christianity-

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

...But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money... continue reading Acts 8:9-23

So while the prosperity gospel group and the word of faith'ers are playing the lottery with their church trying to see how much money and material wealth they can gain you folks are showing yourselves for where your heart truly is. Maybe some people need to be praying for "conviction" that God would reveal to them whatever it is in their lives that may not be acceptable to God?

Suggestions from Jonathan Rovetto and Barry Bowen:

It amazes me that people will give money to someone they do not know and will never meet. If you are in the hospital try calling a TV evangelist to come out and pray for you. You will never even get them on the phone. Wake up people!!! How to Spot a Pastor or Priest Stealing Church Funds

God wants us to enjoy His provisions. However, the key to the good things in life is not in doing or having but in living for Jesus Christ. You will find that when your affections are set on material gain, your spirit suffers. Life takes on a hopeless effect. But you avoid all of this when knowing Jesus is your aim and goal. -Charles Stanley, All is Vanity-

If a preacher tells you that if you become a covenant partner with them and their ministry you'll then be blessed, run from that person because they are lying. God blesses his people when his people put their trust in the cross and help those less fortunate than them. It seems that as the economy continues to slowly recover, the manipulation of many within the church are pulling out all stops to earn a fast buck. It might not be popular, it might not make me friends within some evangelical circles, but the truth remains the same, manipulation for filthy lucre (money) seems to be happening more and more these days. And since I've made some people mad with this post, let me finish the job, if a TV preacher is more wealthier than the PEOPLE in his own church, he is NOT a true man of God, but a manipulator for money - get rid of him. Robbing the people blind to secure their personal lifestyle is not only wrong, unethical and immoral, it will damn that soul to eternal Hell. -Christopher Gregory-

We at POR do not endorse Christopher Gregory. He claims to be a 'prophet' and he clearly is not.
