What are you giving in exchange for your soul?

There is a very good short film which excellently demonstrates this scripture. It is called The Angel of Sardis. Written, produced and directed by Fred Holmes.

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, `Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy.' But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you, that ye may be the children of your Father who is in Heaven. For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

This is the truest test any Christian can have. That which God brings about from the one who is willing to humble himself to love and pray for those who publicly persecute, despise and curse him.

To love one another is God's greatest commandment. Love is not a dictator. Love does not say I will love you until...or I will love you 'if' you love me or for as long as you love me. Love has no time limitation. Love does not control another person or manipulate them to do what the controller wants. Love is not an act or a sex act. The one who knows not love, knows not God.

Due to God's law of sowing and reaping, the misfortunates you attempt to sow into others lives in due time will come back on you and often much worse.

Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity and sow wickedness reap the same. Job 4:8

He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity, and the rod of his anger shall fail. Proverbs 22:8

They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns; they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit; and they shall be ashamed of your produce because of the fierce anger of the LORD. Jeremiah 12:13

The enemy that sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. Matthew 13:39

And shall not God avenge His own elect, who cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?"

And He spoke this parable unto certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, `God, I thank Thee that I am not as other men are: extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I possess.'

And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, `God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other; for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Luke 18:7-14

And herein is that saying true, `One soweth and another reapeth.' John 4:37

Be not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8

Please review the additional scriptures listed at the beginning of this article referencing the emphasis God placed on loving others.

May God have mercy on the souls of those who are so willing to sell their soul for temporal things.
