Purpose

The ultimate purpose of any false prophet is to lead people away from Jesus Christ and the true gospel. They will tell you some truths mixed with a pack of lies. If you are not reading your King James Bible... if you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have personal prayer time... if you have no spiritual discernment then you will be bamboozled by these people. Many will use the name of Jesus but they are talking about a different Jesus, not the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As the Word of God says, many will say in that day "Lord, Lord... " (Matthew 7:21-23 Bible quote (verse 21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

(verse 22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

(verse 23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.Matthew 7 verses 21-23) but these people have the spirit of antichrist in them. They are not of God. We shall know them by their fruit! (Matthew 7:20 Bible quote Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.Matthew 7 verse 20)

And if you say in your heart, 'How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?--when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:21-22

This man's game play became so obvious to me too late, of course. I listened to many of his false prophecies to other people. They were ALWAYS SELF-SERVING! This should be the very first RED FLAG. This is typical of many false prophets today. What I finally learned was that Marty himself steps in and makes things happen for people so that it looks like his false prophecy is coming to pass. Once I heard him say "There is someone here who is trying to make things happen but..." and I realized at that moment that something fishy was going on. Only after his removal of me and seeing him take control over Matt did I realize HE was the one trying to make things happen for people. I never met anyone who said his prophecy to them ever came to pass. Marty always said that everyone who came to his services had a "covering" implying that the Holy Spirit was protecting people but I finally learned that the "covering" he was talking about was not the Holy Spirit but a demonic spirit, a mind controlling/delusional spirit Isaiah 30:1-3 Bible quote (verse 1) Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

(verse 2) That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

(verse 3) Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt [your] confusion.Isaiah 30 verses 1-3.

about spiritual coverings

Even worse, those they minister to, who accept their "words" are DEFILED BY DIVINATION and will see things begin to "crumble around them" as well. Sure, those who are serving themselves and PRIDE usually find someone or an organization to ordain and back them with a 'spiritual covering' so the ministry looks 'in order' but when they're serving themselves the fruit will show this. Their preaching will clearly point this out. Not EVERYONE is fooled.

Those who are "led by the spirit" or have "discerning of spirits" will sense quickly the error and will likely leave. Those who like the 'SHOW' and the 'edification' will stay. Remember, JEZEBEL WILL TELL EVERYONE WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR in order to control them. -Will Curtis, Jezebel and Ahab Operating in the Church and Christian Families-

When prophecies do not come to pass then people have a list of excuses they use. This should be the second RED FLAG.

Someone has shared with me a very excellent observation about the so called "worship" music and the "focus on SELF" in Marty's services. Read Leaving the Cult of Self-Focus.

After the service, Marty asked me what I thought about it all. I had to be honest, and I told him that nearly all the songs we sang were about OURSELVES. WHO were we worshipping? Ourselves or the Lord? We sang those "warfare" type songs. "We are this, we are that!" etc. He kindly replied that he would ponder my words. I see today that he has not changed, and still sings mostly about "US" rather than God. They call that worship. -SI-

The Elijah List Connection

Now besides the TBN association, Marty and his good friend, Kim Clement, belong to something called "The Elijah List" which is a group of gurus who call themselves "prophets" and "prophetesses." Some of the most well known names are James Goll, Patricia King, Chuck Pierce, Peter Wagoner, Sandi Freed, Rick Joyner, Cindy Jacobs, Matt Sorger, Bill Johnson, Todd Bentley...to name a few but there are a very long list of them and this list continues to grow as this demonic spirit is passed on to whomever is willing to accept it. They all talk the prosperity gospel and teach occult practices, ungodly things which are forbidden in the Word of God. Then they falsely prophesy to people about their dreams or whatever their spirit guide tells them just like psychics do, but they do it in the name of God! Marty started 'cell groups' in the Nashville metro area which is a term generally associated with cults. These 'cell groups' were supposed to be at home Bible study groups. What kind of example is being set when people who are shacked up together with illegitimate children are made the leaders of the Bible study group? This is totally unbiblical.

Then he changed his prosperity "feel good" sermons on a whim for what appeared to be used against certain individuals. So Marty began having these monthly topics for his sermons. The first month it was "GOD is setting you up." As it turned out MARTY was setting me up and using Matt against me in order to divide us.

The second month the topic was "ADVANCE and POSSESS." As it turned out MARTY ADVANCED against me and POSSESSED Matt. He made a connection to Matt, took control over him and then turned him against me. Matt's behavior was like that of a voodoo spell. As I noticed him glaring at me all the time but never speaking to me, then moving from seat to seat to be near me and later booting me from the property and taking over my seat I quickly realized this behavior was very abnormal. The few brief moments we were face to face I felt like he was looking right through me. His behavior truly gave me the heavie jeevies!

The third month the topic was "Follow Me." As it turned out he manipulated and enchanted his small group of followers to FOLLOW HIM and turn against me.

Coincidence? I think not.

Very naively I gave a great sum of money to Marty's cult. I will not publicly reveal the amount but it was not like I had that kind of money to give away either. The reason I gave the money was because of my misguided beliefs in giving to the Lord in order to receive a miracle healing. I gave out of desperation for a physical healing. I also gave a lot of clothing. Then it was about one month later when he had me arrested. And, at the end of the year, I never received anything from his cult about any of my donations. Marty never reported anything to the IRS! This should be another RED FLAG! (Malachi 3:5 Bible quote And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.Malachi 3 verse 5)

Private Messages to Marty Layton

Marty encouraged me to write to him. It was because he was gathering information to use against me. That is what the jezebel spirit does.

12. Sequesters information - A Jezebel loves to be in control of information. If there is ever a situation where information is important, he will push to be the "first" to know it. He seems to know everything about everyone. Where he gets all his information is beyond comprehension, but he can dictate to you data and details about people’s lives and actions in mass quantities.

13. Uses information - A Jezebel uses information as a leverage for power and then shares tidbits with you, often things told him in confidence. This gives him a sense of power, even to the point of trying to impress people by "knowing things" that others do not. -Steve Sampson, Confronting Jezebel-

Then they twist and pervert that information in order to destroy you and every relationship around you. Marty must have realized that I was catching onto his game when I blocked him on social networking. It was a few days later when he had me arrested.

After speaking to him like a "Pastoral-Fatherly" figure that Pastors are supposed to be, and pouring out my heart about personal issues of pain and loss then I began revealing some of my thoughts about what I believed was going on. Excerpts of my messages to Marty:

June 19- He [Matt] says that he does not even want to be my friend ... because he said that it will "never, never, never, NEVER HAPPEN."

'Does not want to be my friend'? LOL! Not at all the behavior of a genuine Christian! If you cannot live, love, fellowship, make peace and get along with Christians on this earth then how do you think that God is going to allow you into His heaven? (Matthew 5:22 Bible quote But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.Matthew 5 verse 22, Romans 12:18 Bible quote If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.Romans 12 verse 18, 1 John 4:20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?1 John 4 verse 20). The Bible says it CANNOT happen! Matt said those words to me on Friday afternoon, June 17, 2011 and later that evening Marty's reply to me was "Do not pay attention to what he says..." So at this time I was blinded to the truth of Marty being a false prophet because 'I wanted' to believe what he would say to me at the services. Therefore, I continued to go along believing that Matt would at least turn himself around and behave like a friend. How wrong and deceived I was!
